“We continue the year long celebration of the 20th anniversary of the First Thursday Artwalk. The free Artwalk Tour usually gives a one hour sample of the diverse art scene in San Pedro,– a different itinerary each month. The tour leaves at 6:30 from the Chamber of Commerce Board Room Gallery.
The Board Room walls feature the artwork of Lynn Doran’s new book, Images of the Omo Valley Tribes, a photo documentation of tribes and vanishing cultures of Ethiopia. Lynn is a native Californian, began her life of adventure and creativity in the 1950’s, traveling with her parents whose curiosity led them deep into Mexico, pulling a travel-trailer. Leaving college with a degree in Fine Arts, Lynn immediately started her own company, “Natty,” designing and manufacturing women’s specialized ski accessories, as well as more youthfully contemporary tennis and golf attire. Travel serves Lynn as a stimulant and her creative themes express themselves through ceramic sculpture, printmaking and photography.
Huz Gallery presents a solo exhibition by local artist Luis Sanchez “From Nature to Urban”. A new collection of bird and urban landscape paintings, sculpture, prints, clothing, ceramic clocks and much more all created by artist.
Hiroko’s Sculpture Gallery. San Pedro is home to the talented and well known sculptor, Hiroko. Her primary work has been in bronze and stone, and the pieces are expressions of Hiroko’s interest in the human relationship between the internal and external, exploring hidden emotional webs. Recently, she has added small ceramic pieces.
TransVagrant Projects and Gallery 478 present Traces, Recent Photographs by Guillaume Zuili.
