MAY 2, FIRST THURSDAY ARTWALK IN SAN PEDRO
FREE GUIDED GALLERY TOUR AT 6:30 p.m.
The free Artwalk Tour usually gives a one hour sample of the diverse art scene in San Pedro,– a different itinerary each month, visiting artists in their studios and galleries. The tour leaves at 6:30 from the Chamber of Commerce Board Room Gallery.
Angels Gate Cultural Center (AGCC) presents a Boardroom Gallery exhibition “Nothing New ~ Protracted” featuring multidisciplinary artist Lowell Nickel. Nickel’s new digital works will be showcased in the San Pedro Chamber of Commerce’s Boardroom Gallery. This artistic investigation looks into the phenomenon of man-made flotsam i.e. beached discards as cultural artifacts
Then we’ll head out on 7th Street and visit MS Gallery. They participated in the interactive Cheat Day Museum and will feature the work shown there. “Cheat Day” refers to a humorous event that focused on art related to food that we may cheat on our diets to eat. The gallery specializes in Latin American Artists.
Then we’ll visit Hiroko. She is a wonderful sculptor working in bronze and marble. Her work is often emotional and suggests a story.
On to 6th Street to visit the San Pedro Art Association’s selection of art, jewelry, pottery, photography and more… offering an opportunity to find a gift for Mother’s Day.
After the tour, you have plenty of time to enjoy a meal or glass of wine with entertainment at one of the many of the popular independent restaurants in San Pedro, and explore other art venues on your own.

“Arid West” Cody Lusby
Arid West is an evolution of Cody’s Water Wars series. His new works take a surrealistic approach on the importance of water and how here in Los Angeles, water conservation is a way of life. By combining black and white desert scenes with lush full colored bathers, Cody gives us a stark reminder of California’s divide between the wet north and the dry south.
Blue Water Clay – Our first Thursday pottery sale is this Thursday May 2nd from 6pm to 9pm at 803 S Pacific Ave. There will be handmade ceramics for sale.
